Queer as Folk is Love

It seems I've been a bad fangirl and ran off to El-jay to pursue Doctor Who fannish things. It's been a good trip but now with my birthday out of the way (just a couple days ago) and my own laptop to do with what I please, I'm baaaaaaaaack.

I might sit down and marathon all the QAF episodes soon (Queer as Folk and Doctor Who/Torchwood are vastly different creatures) and then get back into posting, squeeing and commenting with everyone.

Dear loving IJ f-list,

So after almost two months or so of getting into the nitty gritty of Torchwood and Doctor Who I need a quick B/J fix. :)

What episodes would help me feel the love again? (Anything but 513) Aaaand can someone recommend any new PWPs?

I'd like to thank my f-list for answering the questions I posed a little while ago. I was overwhelmed by the thoughtful responses, even if was just "I agree with whoever" since every opinion helps.

There was supposed to be a little mystery as to WHY I was asking the questions and hopefully that was apparent.

I have questions for you all.

Are fandoms monogamous?

Do you believe you can really love two fandoms without loving one more than the other?

If you have more than the QAF fandom, what else do you have?

I have a strong urge to watch the "marathon of pain."

Is something seriously wrong with me or what?

It seems like whenever I visit posts regarding IJ there's the fandom I know and love -- right there to voice their opinion! Of course we're loud-mouthed but I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Ny's recent post about Deep thoughts got me thinking. (yeah witty eh?) the mention of Joss Whedon got me thinking about Spike... then because I'm an idiot I went BACK in my flist (instead of starting back and reading chronologically) and read xie's post in qaf_coffeeclub about when she started loving Brian.

That spawned this rant... spam... post about Brian and Spike... not together unfortunately. I couldn't do that on Justin's birthday.

Just a heads up that the first round of What Episode was that? will start Wednesday, March 19th over at qaf_scavenger. It'll be featuring quotes from Season 3, so bone up. :D

I figured that since there are a few pet people on my flist I'd post a few pictures of my zoo. Feel free to skip over it or comment. I won't be offended. :D

Altogether we have:
Four cats (Blake, Hunter, Nemesis and Pepsi)
Two dogs (Grendal - purebred Doberman Pinscher & Luna, rescue Siberian Husky)
Three ferrets (Dakota, Deli and Snaks)
Plus I foster occasionally. Needless to say it's a full house.

Okay I have a game idea for all of you. If I have good enough feedback I'll run it off of qaf_scavenger

Basically I post 6 quotes, two from three different episodes all from the same season. The comments are screened and everyone tries to guess which episodes the quotes are from.

After say two days I unscreen the comments and post the answers. This way there can be multiple winners or no winners. We could do it once a week, say Wednesday that way the answers are up by the weekend.

I figured for some of us that aren't so good at remembering episode numbers this might help.

Ideas? Suggestions? Horrible idea?

I've finally marathoned Season 1 from start to finish; paying close attention to details. Now that I'm utterly sick and tired of seeing Dr. Dave I popped in Season 2 today.

I had forgotten what I crush I had on BenRobert Gant. Gahh. Of course I chose to randomly watch 212 where Michael finds out Ben had sex with Brian at the white party two years ago. Those flashbacks make me very happy. Not that I'm shipping Ben/Brian in anyway, shape or form. Ben belongs with Michael, right foreverbm? Still they're both so tall.

Little details I've noticed: (Forgive me if the episodes are a number or two off)

209 - Rev. Tom looked oddly familiar. A search on Imdb.com found that he's the narrator of "Dogs with Jobs." Also turns out the actor was born 15 mins away from where I live now.

210 - Look how amazed/shocked Brian looks when George says he looks like a love child of James Dean and Ayn Rand. Suddenly he's defending older men.

212 - Ted and Emmett at the "A-Gay" lounge/party thing. They're at Rain restaurant, one of Toronto's most vibrant restaurants owned and operated by Guy and Michael Rubino. It used to be a women's prison. -nod- The owners have a show on Food Network called "Made to Order" great show. Makes me happy that they picked that restaurant.
